Mid

Description of formula:
Returns a specified number of characters from the text, starting from the given position. Third parameter is optional – if you do not pass the length, formula returns a fragment from the specified start position to the end of a text.
Syntax:
mid(text, start, length)
Parameters:
text
(type: Text) Text that contains characters to extract
start
(type: Number) The position of the first character to extract. Must be greater than 0 and not exceed the length of the text.
length
(type: Number) (optional parameter) Number of characters you want to extract. Must be greater than or equal to 0.
Returned type:
Text
Examples:
=mid('one two three', 3)
=mid(section1.A1, 3, 3)
=mid('one two three', A1, 3)
Remarks:
Positions of characters in text are numbered from 1. Spaces counts as characters.
